F/T - Dir of Competitive Intel (The Creative Group) (NJ)

The Creative Group is seeking a Director of Competitive Intelligence for a client located in Florham Park, New Jersey.
The position requires the ability to collect intelligence and synthesize (rather than just analyze) disparate industry information; derive implications and make recommendations; and have a solid understanding of the Competitive Intelligence vendor landscape, leading edge technologies, and best practices (i.e., familiarity and experience with programs such as ClearCi or mbrain).

3. Manage Day-to-Day Department Staff and Operations
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelors degree required preferably in Marketing and/or Market Research. Masters preferred.
A minimum of 10+ years progressive experience (e.g. business or competitive intelligence, strategic marketing, strategic planning, consultancy) is required
A minimum of 6+ years of experience with analytics/business intelligence is required in CPG, Nutrition and/or healthcare (OTC/ pharmaceutical) industry.
Extensive expertise in Nielsen/IRI including advanced analytics and data modeling
Must work extremely well in a highly collaborative, matrixed and team oriented environment.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strategic Thinking. Ability to think broadly and with an eye towards forward-looking possible market landscapes that may impact the business. Additionally, ability to synthesize the multiple data sources to highlight critical trends and patterns for the business to prioritize
Interpersonal Skills Work collaboratively with cross functional teams, work well under pressure, and is a strong leader for the Business and Competitive Intelligence function
Written & Oral Communication Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate and present complex problems and solutions to all levels of the organization
Analysis – Take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a systematic approach to determining courses of action
Creativity – Identify the important dimensions of a problem, integrate critical elements in order to make correct inferences from data and information, recognize patterns in information
Data Competency – Understand the mix of data available to researchers and show the ability to question and determine the accuracy and validity of information
