P/T - Instruction Librarian - College of Staten Island (Staten Island)

 The College of Staten Island, a senior college of the City University of New York, seeks an Instruction Librarian to teach library research skills to classes during weekdays (primarily afternoon to late evening hours) for up to 15 hours per week.  Duties of the successful candidate will include:
•providing instruction for Library Workshops for ENG 111 (College Writing) and other information literacy workshops;
•providing instruction for one-shot sessions in other disciplines;
•teaching library research skills to individuals during research consultations (private sessions) and as part of reference service;
•participating in orientation tours;
•creating subject guides and online tutorials; and
•assisting with library projects, assignments, and initiatives as designated.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program. A second graduate degree is desired. Experience developing and delivering information literacy instruction in an academic setting. Must possess high level of comfort with information technologies, Microsoft Windows environment and productivity software.  Experience using instructional tools, such as LibGuides, in the development of online tutorials, guides, or videos.  Ability to keep abreast of trends and emerging media technology. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. A flexible schedule is desired.

Salary, depending on qualifications, begins at $37.77 per hour.
