Donna Conti, an executive recruitment firm specialized in the placement of permanent and temporary information professionals, is seeking Financial Researchers for two upcoming positions - one temporary and one permanent - for its client, a large financial firm.  Candidates must have recent on the job financial database experience and will be responsible for providing relevant research while working under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Digital Services Librarian 
 
Purpose:  The Digital Services Librarian serves the educational, research and information needs of the University community via the creation and maintenance of web-based interactive content, tutorials, and reference services that extend  library education and research assistance to all students, faculty, residents, fellows and employees of New York Medical College. Additionally this position is crucial to the Library’s digitization initiatives related to current and archival materials.
 
Responsibilities:  
·       Provides leadership in the design, development, maintenance, and evaluation of web-based content, tutorials, and online services;
·       Recommends and develops new library digital services including those for mobile devices;
·       Promotes the use of appropriate current and emerging technologies and media;
·       Serves as a member of the reference team;
·       Performs liaison responsibilities with NYMC clinical and non-clinical academic departments including developing and teaching instructional sessions, online searching, and marketing of library services;
·       Updates library web content;
·       Provides leadership in digitization activities of the library including archival digitization projects;

Associate University Librarian for Technical Services is needed for Fairleigh-Dickinson Univ., Florham Campus in Madison, NJ.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Provost, Florham Campus, the Associate University Librarian for Technical Services directs and supervises the operations of all areas of the Technical Services Departments on both the Florham and Metropolitan Campuses. The departments provide technical services support to all libraries within the university. Services include selecting, ordering, cataloging and processing new print and digital materials, providing and maintaining access to multiple forms of electronic materials, supporting library staff in their use of the integrated library system, and the ongoing development of the library website/portal.
Responsibilities of this position include establishing and implementing departmental policies; supervising the cataloging of materials for the libraries’ print and digital collections; overseeing the day-to-day management of the Libraries’ electronic resources; bulk loading of cataloging records from various resource vendors; authority control processing; overseeing ongoing catalog maintenance; coordinating staff training for new library technologies; leading the library website team and overseeing implementation of new technologies on that site; generating statistical and special request reports; participating in library collection development; and providing occasional reference service.
The incumbent functions largely without daily direct supervision and assumes substantial project and library systems-related responsibility. Works closely with the Associate University Librarians, the Systems Librarian and Technology Support Specialist, and other library department heads to develop and coordinate library-related projects. This is a university-wide position that requires periodic meetings, and full days work, at the Metropolitan Campus libraries, in addition to duties performed at the Florham Campus Library. The incumbent serves as a member of the University Library Steering Committee.
Required Qualifications:
1. MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited library school.
2. Five years progressive professional library experience in Technical or Public Services, including staff supervision.
3. Two to three years original and copy cataloging experience with a proficiency in RDAOCLC searching, assignment of LCSH, LC Classification, and use of authority files.
4. Technological knowledge of library applications and processes.
5. Effective analytical skills to quickly assess and resolve library procedural and system issues.
6. Effective organizational skills to work on several projects simultaneously while continuing to meet schedules and implementation dates.
7. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Working knowledge of HTML and web page design is desirable.
8. Ability to write and execute simple SQL scripts.
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and outside vendors’ sales and technical support personnel.

The Content Strategist is responsible for ensuring that digital content is user-centered and engaging, meets high quality standards, and furthers College Board’s mission. Reporting to the Director, Editorial Services, the Content Strategist is a direct contributor to the development of websites and other digital projects, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to conceptualize, develop, execute, and maintain digital content. This position is based out of the New York City College Board office.
Responsibilities include leading content efforts throughout the lifecycle of complex digital projects; helping to define and realize the vision and direction of the project, collaborating closely with project sponsors and others; delivering project briefs, content audits, and other content strategy tools; as well as drafting content, developmental editing, and content entry. S/he will work closely with product managers, sponsors, content producers, editors, user experience design (UXD), and information technology (IT) to conceptualize, develop, execute, and maintain content that is accurate and consistent in presentation and optimally stored within a content management system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works closely with project sponsors to understand their needs and the needs of their users and to ensure both are met in digital products
  • Guides the iterative copy development process through all stages, including sponsor reviews and editorial passes in response to feedback.
  • Provides feedback on project plans, wireframes, requirements documents, and related artifacts in anticipation of content needs.

Gill Library at The College of New Rochelle invites applications for a Learning Commons Coordinator, and this full-time, 12-month professional staff level position is available immediately.  Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Library, the Learning Commons Coordinator will take a lead role in the integration of library and academic support services within the Library Learning Commons.  The Coordinator provides vision, leadership, and management in the integration of technology, research skills, tutoring, and related student success functions.  This includes the delivery of services and re-purposed physical spaces designed to facilitate information discovery, collaborative learning, and knowledge-building for all students.  This exciting new venture will blend digital and multimedia technologies with the best of online and traditional library services to foster student learning and research.  The Library Learning Commons has been developed in phases, with the major phase on the main campus in New Rochelle, due to open in the Fall of 2015.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Liaises with Asst. VP for Academic Affairs and retention services staff, including tutoring, writing and disability services;
  • Contributes to curriculum development/student success and retention initiatives, including writing across the disciplines;
  • Creates a dynamic and innovative Learning Commons environment based upon current research and best practices;
  • Directs and supervises all aspects of staffing, including scheduling, training, and evaluating Learning Commons staff;
  • Oversees all technology in the Learning Commons to ensure that it functions properly;
