Digital Assets Manager (Temp), The Rockefeller Foundation – NY

The Rockefeller Foundation’s digital team is responsible for developing and implementing various strategies to engage our audience, and pioneer new ways to hear and share innovative ideas and perspectives on serving the needs of poor or vulnerable people in a time of rapid change. The Digital Assets Manager position is a temporary, full-time role ( six month fixed term ) that will work with the digital team and others across the Foundation to assist with the Rockefeller Foundation’s ambitious digital overhaul.
The Digital Assets Manager will create the infrastructure of the Foundation’s new digital assets management (DAM) platform and lead efforts in migrating and organizing media to meet the standards of the system.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Pre-implementation analysis, including an audit and collection of existing assets and project management plan.
  • Implementation, including metadata scheme, taxonomy and tagging, and workflow management.
  • Initial library management, including quality assurance, validation, protocols, auditing and the production of staff materials and training.

Education, Training and Experience
  • BA or BS in Communications, Library Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 years practical experience working in database management, software administration, digital rights management, metadata standards and practices, file formatting, and data migration.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels across the institution, and with outside organizations and vendors.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems, and print and media technologies.
  • An understanding of digital asset practices, including “fair use,’ creative commons, and similar copyright issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Experience with, and dedication to, data-driven analysis, strategic thinking and decision-making.
