About Touro College:Touro College is a system of Jewish-sponsored non-profit institutions of higher and professional education. Touro College was established in 1971 primarily to enrich the Jewish heritage, and to serve the larger American community. Over 18,000 students are currently enrolled in its various schools and divisions. Touro College has branch campuses, locations and instructional sites in the New York area, as well as branch campuses and programs in Berlin, Jerusalem, Moscow, and Paris. Touro University California and its Nevada branch campus, as well as Touro College Los Angeles, are separately accredited institutions governed in common by the same Board of Trustees as Touro College.

Job Summary:Under the supervision of the Library Information Literacy Services Director, the project manager librarian’s position advocates for new scholarly communication models, explores methods for evaluating the quality and impact of scholarly publications of the institution, and partners with campus colleagues to capture and provide access to the college’s intellectual assets. 

Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for entering the scholarly publications information of Touro’s faculty into the faculty publications database.
  • Maintain and expand the faculty publications database.
  • Research different trends in emerging scholarly communications tools, such as Mendeley and ORCID and apply where possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to the overall operating efficiency of the library
Requirements: 
Education, Preparation, and Training
  • Master’s Degree from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Experience at an academic library or research institution
Skills
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects
  • Understanding the emerging technologies and Scholarly communications issues
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Physical Demands
  • Extensive Use of Computers
  • Extensive time sitting and standing
  • Able to lift up to 5lbs
Travel
  • Travel to Touro sites is required
