Associate Manager, Global Knowledge Center, Medical Affairs Job, Celgene – NJ

Celgene seeks the Associate Manager for its Global Knowledge Center to provide leadership and expertise for the procurement, management and availability of a wide range of electronic resources and cutting edge information management technologies, including evaluation, selection, license negotiation, promotion and access. The Associate Manager, Global Knowledge Center ensures that access to these resources is available to the global Celgene community 24×7. The position promotes and communicates up-to-date information about Knowledge Services’ resources and technologies to clients and team members.

Major responsibilities:

1. Identify, acquire and implement electronic resources and cutting edge technologies including identification of vendors, establishing trials, evaluating purchase options and negotiating licenses in partnership with Strategic Sourcing, and reviewing and managing license information
2. Collaborate with IT business partners to implement text/data mining solutions to enhance search capabilities
3. Streamline operations and improve user experience
4. Implement technologies to collect, harmonize, analyze and report electronic usage statistics to drive decision making (identification of new subscriptions and services, cancellation of underutilized resources)
5. Conduct end user surveys/work with consultant to evaluate services and content portfolio
6. Create awareness and access of information resources through the eLibrary website and Medical Affairs Portal
7. Develop and maintain state of the art training modules on library systems and services; partner with vendors as appropriate
8. Troubleshoot access issues and work with vendors and end users to resolve quickly
9. Monitor copyright and licensing issues and advise management and users on changes and issues
10. Assist in preparing annual budget and monitor ongoing spend
11. Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple project simultaneously; provide status updates to management
12. Performs other responsibilities and special projects (Taxonomy, Citation Management) as identified by supervisor

2 Completes all assigned SOPs and training within designated timeframe and adheres to job-specific SOPs and work instructions
3 Conducts/assists in the overall training of Celgene personnel
4 Dedicated to continuous learning to broaden technical skills and pharmaceutical industry acumen


Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library or Information Science or equivalent preferred.
At least 5 years of information management experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry preferred.


Skills/Knowledge Required
• Strong technical skills in managing web sites and implementing new technologies
• Understanding of COUNTER compliant usage statistics
• Knowledge of digital library tools, formats, standards (XML, HTML, OpenURL, DOI, RSS, Library 2.0)
• Experience with database maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting. Information technology competency in relevant areas
• Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting methodologies
