F/T - Business Researcher, Morgan Stanley (NY)

Business Information Services Researcher, Morgan Stanley – NY

Responsibilities Include:
  • · Provide value-added (Tier 3) market research of companies, industries and markets to Morgan Stanley businesses in support of strategic financial decision, focusing on Global Capital Markets and Financial Institutions
  • · Manage complex research projects through the delegation of non-core and non-sensitive transactions tasks (Tiers 1 & 2) to alternative staffing resources
  • · Participate in Global Business Information Services and Corporate Information Management strategic task forces and communicate objectives to the team
  • · Ensure the global team consistently delivers high quality research Content Management (Knowledge Management of Sector Resources)
  • · Participate in the development and implementation of information strategies through the management, deployment and use of key resources and related initiatives
  • · Building and maintain client relationships with internal client Operations Officers, Assignments Associates, and Senior Management
  • · Provide advice to business units on the cost of information in order to assist in managing their spend on research
  • · Maintain relationships with key product vendors, keeping abreast of product developments, competitor activities, maintaining a formal list of all resources relevant to Global Capital Markets and Financial Institutions sectors, including contracts, pricing and cross-business unit ownership Client Relationship Management*LI-TV1
Qualifications
Skills Required:
  • · Thomson SDC expertise
  • · Dealogic ECM/DMC/M&A Manager and Strategy Manager expertise
  • · Working knowledge of SNL Interactive
  • · Strong knowledge and understanding of Global Capital Markets and Financial Institutions (ex. Banks, Insurance, Hedge Funds, Diversified Financials) and associated resources
  • · Advanced web information strategies: Web2.0, SharePoint, Jive, etc.
  • · Proactive monitoring of clients’ and Firm’s business activities to understand and anticipate client information requirements
  • · Heightened awareness of compliance & client confidentiality obligations
Skills Desired:
  • · Post graduate degree in Business, Economics, Library Science or relevant field
  • · Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments
