F/T - Reference Librarian, John Jay College CUNY (NY)

The Lloyd Sealy Library at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, welcomes applications for a Reference Librarian to start in Fall 2014. 

This is a tenure-track faculty position.  We seek a curious and enthusiastic technologically-savvy librarian/teacher/scholar familiar with current trends in college librarianship. The successful candidate will provide reference assistance to users at the reference desk, by individual consultation, and by virtual means. S/he will assist students, staff, and faculty in identifying, locating, and interpreting sources of information irrespective of format. S/he will participate in the library instruction program, teaching classes and workshops for undergraduate and graduate students. S/he will assist in developing instructional materials in the social sciences. S/he will contribute to collection development with an emphasis on the social sciences. S/he will share responsibility for shaping user-centered library services and collections while advancing the library's role in the college. S/he will carry out other duties and projects, assignments, and initiatives, as needed and assigned.
