P/T Temp - Web Srvcs Librarian, P-M Library (NY)


Thank you for your interest in our opening for a PT/Temporary Web Services Librarian. PT/Temporary Web Services Librarian

The Patchogue-Medford Library seeks a driven, creative and user oriented Temporary
Part-Time Librarian or Librarian Trainee with a technology background to work in the Adult
Services Department. This position is for 15 hours a week and includes, day, evening and
weekend hours.

Duties:
● Assists in the organization of local history content on the web
● Designs a modern User experience under the guidance of the digital strategist
● Organizes workflow of content for scanning
● Digitizes physical artifacts under guidance of the digital strategist & local history librarian
● Crafts web content for Local History Room
● Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
● MLS or Enrolled in a MLS program at an ALA Accredited school.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, library
patrons and general public.
● Working knowledge of Drupal, including theme & module installation
● HTML & CSS Knowledge
● Strong customer service background (Such as retail/tech support)
● Strong writing skills
Preferred qualifications:
● An interest in American History
● Experience scanning & categorizing documents
● A proven team player & self starter
● Social media knowledge
