F/T - Archivist, Cai Studio (NY)

Archivist, Cai Studio – NY

Cai Studio is seeking a full-time Archivist. This is a position that may require travel and overtime hours. A strong preference will be given to candidates with exceptional computer skills, experience and knowledge working with archives and a demonstrated ability to edit art-related materials.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

- Advanced degree in Library Science, Art History, Museum Studies, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Editorial, copyediting, fact-checking or proofreading experience; familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Experience working with exhibition catalogue production process
- Ability to lead archival solutions design and implement processes
- Ability to field research inquiries and image requests; familiarity 
with reproduction rights
- Cataloguing and programming experience with archival databases
- Advanced computer skills in FileMaker Pro, Photoshop, Final Cut, Lightroom, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to do video editing; creating computer rendering and animation for artist’s preliminary proposal
- Working knowledge of photo and video equipment, formats, scanning/digitization, and duplication
- Familiarity with archival standards and artwork conservation practices
- Have a strong interest in contemporary art
- Speaking and reading ability in Mandarin Chinese; ability to adapt to multilingual environments and foreign working styles


This is a full time position with benefits including paid vacation, and health and travel insurances.  Salary commensurate with experience.
