P/T - Bus. Ref. Librarian, Lee Hecht (NJ)

(PT) Business Reference Librarian, Lee Hecht Harrison - NJ or remote

Lee Hecht Harrison seeks an experienced business reference librarian to join our Business Information Center (BIC) team. This is an adjunct position that we expect to average approximately 20 hours/week. This position will be located in Woodcliff Lake, NJ – but could be virtual.

The Business Information Center serves the very wide-ranging business reference needs of Lee Hecht Harrison’s candidates, customers, and staff worldwide. Our primary constituents are c-suite executives in career transition.
Our BIC staff plays a critical role in supporting LHH’s ability to deliver outstanding results for our candidates and customers. We pride ourselves in a highly consultative approach to the business reference process, adherence to the highest levels of customer service, creativity, and discretion.
This position will be located in Woodcliff Lake, NJ – but could be virtual – and will report to our SVP, Business Information Services.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BA or equivalent undergraduate degree required with strong academic credentials.
• ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS degree preferred.
• Experience in a professional services firm environment preferred.
• Business reference experience in a corporate library or comparable setting; outstanding business reference skills and knowledge of a wide range of print and electronic business information sources.
• Demonstrated experience in serving the business reference needs of leaders at all levels of the organization – including c-suite – across a wide range of industries and functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and instructional skills.
• Experience with emerging technologies, social media, and their application in job search and a general business setting.
• Attention to detail and very organized
• Ability to work autonomously and to juggle multiple, time-sensitive competing priorities
• Superior customer service
• Demonstrated experience selling business information services (internally or externally) a plus.

Responsibilities:
1. Consult with a wide range of senior executives to clarify their information needs. Coach these executives in the range of information options available and coach them in their use of the available information.
2. Provide reference support to senior executives in a wide range of disciplines and industries. Research, analyze and synthesize information into accurate answers or actionable information for those executives.
3. Assist users in utilizing online business reference tools.
4. Apply appropriate metrics to continually measure the volume, type, quality, and value of LHH’s information offerings.
5. Promote LHH’s business information services to our staff, our customers, and our candidates.
