Online and Outreach Services Librarian II, Montclair State Univ – NJ




Montclair State University is seeking an Online and Outreach Services Librarian II. The newcomer will serve reference duties including rotating evenings and weekends; participates in collection development activities by recommending electronic resources related to online and off campus courses and programs; serves as librarian liaison to one or more departments or units
Keeps informed of professional trends and practices; Participates in local, state, and national professional activities; Keeps informed of University and Library policies and procedures; Services on Library and University committees; Performs other duties as assigned. Reports to Associate Dean of Library Services for Public Services. Tenure Track position.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library program
  • Reading competence in one foreign language is desirable
  • Second master’s degree in another subject area is desirable
Experience/Skills:
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the public services area in an academic library
  • Knowledge and use of current technology to deliver resources and services, including social media
  • Design and implement print and online instructional and tutorial materials
  • Design and teach online information literacy classes and other workshops
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication skills
  • Initiative, flexibility, and creativity
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and growth.

Commensurate with qualification and experience
