Part-Time Librarian / Trainee Hours Available The Hampton Bays Public Library has an immediate opening for a part-time
Librarian or Trainee with a friendly and helpful attitude.
The schedule includes a regular four-hour lunch shift on Saturdays to cover all departments, and fill-in shifts in the reference and teen departments.
Duties: Provide reference, research and reader’s advisory service at a busy reference desk and beyond. Assist patrons of various age groups in the use of library resources and technology. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited library school or completion of a minimum of twelve credits towards the degree. Experience in a public library required. Understanding of proactive customer service. Technology skills appropriate for an information professional in today’s changing environment. Desire to work in a diverse community. Ability to work independently as well as successfully on a team.
Hourly Wage: $25.06 for Librarians. $19.20 or higher for Librarian Trainee.
