36 - 40 hours/week; M-F

Administers, oversees, develops, organizes, directs, and evaluates programs, services, activities relating to the Health Sciences Library (HSL) and Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Essential Functions:

n      Manages the day-to-day library operations and facility.
n      Develops a strategic plan which conforms to the organization’s missions, goals and objectives.
n      Participates in internal meetings to coordinate the HSL and CME goals and objectives with those of the organization.
n      Attends professional conferences, workshops, seminars and classes to maintain knowledge of trends in information management and continuing education.
n      Prepares, monitors, and manages the annual budget.
n      Evaluates, selects, and makes accessible both online and print resources.
n      Provides individual and group instruction on using medical and health care resources.
n      Provides copies of materials to clients through interlibrary loan and document delivery.
n      Conducts literature searches using PUBMED, CINAHL and other online resources.
n      Develops and distributes information materials such as newsletters, brochures and fliers.
n      Develops individual client current awareness and selective dissemination services based on personal information profiles.
n      Supports the implementation of ACCME policies and procedures.
n      Manages the accreditation documentation systems and calendar of events for CME.
n      Maintains all CME activity files.
n      Manages Grand Rounds.
n      Prepares the agenda and records minutes for CME Committee meetings.
n      Tracks and maintains physician participation files of AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
n      Prepares annual reports for the CME program and participates in the preparation of documentation for accreditation surveys.
